Sharon

Sharon Bailey, nee Ireland (14th of March 1969 - 9th of March 2003). Loving daughter to John and Margaret, wife to Gary, Mum to Jess, Josh, Charlie & Jake. Sister to Shaun, Gina, Darren & Kirsty.

Sharon Bailey fought bravely against Breast Cancer for 18mths sadly passing away 5 days before her 33rd birthday leaving a deep void in the hearts and lives of all who knew her.
Sharons  time as a director at Matrix Twirlers and as a member of the I.B.T.A may have been short  but was definitely very memorable. Her lust for life, her energy, effort and enthusiasm for twirling, she was able to embrace all aspects of the sport from energetic  pom routines with outrageous themed costumes designed by her  to the more disciplined elements  of command Marching.
Sharon’s love of command is remembered with the Sharon Bailey Trophy for least penalties in command  presented at the IBTA National Competition.
Always smiling, always laughing. Sharon was everybody’s friend. Always in our hearts forever and a day xx

Mike Talbot (14 April 1942 – 09 March 2009) Loving husband to Sylvia, Pops to Tabby and Lucy and Grandpa to Daisy, Rosie & Rowan

Mike Talbot sadly lost his 2 year battle to pancreatic cancer in March 2009 and has been deeply missed ever since. During his illness, he received care and support at home, from the staff at Phyllis Tuckwell and for this we thank them and always think highly of them as a charity.

Mike together with Sylvia, gave many years of dedication and hard work at the helm of the IBTA, working closely with the Technical Advisor to really move baton twirling forward. He loved the military marching side of baton and choreographed some simply amazing routines. Mike was the gentle authentic man who did, saw, heard, felt, thought and said whatever was needed.   He was the champion, the critic, the mentor and sounding board, his door was always open and his glass was always half full! Mike always encouraged us to “THINK BIG and aim high.”

positive about life

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, based in Farnham, Surrey, is the only adult hospice serving West Surrey and North East Hampshire. We care for seriously ill people and their families both at the Hospice and out in our local community. Our philosophy is about living, not dying, and understanding that the modern use of the word ‘hospice’ is about a specialist system of care across many professions in the community. We’re so much more than just a building in Farnham, as you will find out…
